Tuition Arrangements for 2021-22 :

All books and materials will be recommended to parents well in advance of lessons.
3. One-to-one support:
Teachers will assist children with any issues or problems they have with their homework and monitor their progress.

Courses Summary
11+ Preparation Courses
We prepare children for the following grammar schools:
North London grammar schools – Henrietta Barnett Girls’; Queen Elizabeth’s Boys’; Latymer; St. Michael’s Catholic Grammar
Surrey grammar schools – Tiffin Schools; Wilsons; Wallington Schools and Sutton Boys’
Other grammar schools in Kent, Hertfordshire and Essex
and various top Independent schools in the London region.
State Grammar Entry for Years 3 to 5
These courses prepare children for Verbal Activity (inc. Verbal Ability & Verbal Reasoning), Non-verbal Reasoning, Maths and English for state grammar examinations.
Pre+ Foundation courses are run for year 3 children from September to July
Pre+ Intermediate courses are run for year 4 children from September to July
11+ courses for year 5 children start in September and run for 12 months
Independent School Entry for Years 6 to 8
Scholarship Programme (Independent School preparation) takes place from September to December, in preparation for January examinations.
This course covers English (Comprehension skills and Creative Writing), Verbal Reasoning, Advanced Mathematics, General Knowledge and Interview Technique.
Many of our children gain places in the top independent schools and often win scholarship places.
Around 87% of children who attend our 11+ courses, for a year or more, achieve a pass score for a grammar school placement or independent school of their choice. Most of them achieve above national standard in SATs.
Wit Tutor National Curriculum courses for Years 4 to 9
Core Subjects preparation in English and Maths for Year 4 and Year 5 children takes place from September to July each year.
This course aims to improve children’s performance in English and mathematics so that they exceed National standard.
SATs preparation for Year 6 children takes place from September to May each year.
This course covers English and mathematics at ‘greater depth’ with the objective that children should be exceeding national levels by the time they sit the examination.
Core Subjects preparation in English, Maths and Science for Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9 children takes place from September to July each year for improved performance.
Summer Courses
Intensive courses for Years 5 to 7 are held during the summer holidays in Verbal Activity (includes Verbal Reasoning and Verbal Ability) and Non-verbal Reasoning, Essential Maths, Advanced Maths and English (Creative Writing and Comprehension)
Wit Tutors Initial Assessment
We prefer all children who intend taking our courses to partake in an ‘Initial Assessment’. This enables us to assess a child’s present educational level, their ultimate potential and any specific educational needs.

Tuition at Key Stage 4
The GCSE results for 2018/2019 were outstanding with 90 % of all GCSE grade A*- A
Key Stage 4 covers Years 10 and 11 at school, when students are completing their GCSE examinations.
Our classes for Key Stage 4 are designed to ensure that students grasp the new topics they are learning and to help fill in any gaps or weaknesses in their knowledge. We also help them to get prepared for their exams with plenty of practice and revision of exam techniques and methods for answering the questions.
For our Key Stage 4 pupils, we provide:
Weekly tuition for mathematics, Sciences and English
Help either at Foundation Level or Higher Level for all syllabuses, including AQA, Edexcel, OCR and CIE
In-centre assessments to check levels and progress
Online support classes
Holiday revision courses
We know that Key Stage 4 can be a stressful time and students may be reluctant to attend extra tuition classes, so we aim to make the lessons as helpful and constructive as possible. Although we provide a personalised lesson plan, they are able to bring in homework and are welcome to ask for help in specific areas that they have come across at school.
Tuition Subjects for Key Stage 3
Key Stage 3 is the first three years of secondary education. During those three years, students set the pace for work at GCSE level, so they are an important part of academic life that often get overlooked.
Our classes for Key Stage 3 are designed to ensure that students grasp the new topics they are learning and to help build their confidence and fill in any gaps or weaknesses in their knowledge. Some students in Key Stage 3 may also be working towards the 13 plus exams.
For our Key Stage 3 pupils, we provide:
Online and in-centre assessments to check levels and progress
Weekly personalised lessons in mathematics, English or a mixture of both
Online one-to-one classes.
13 Plus lessons.
The new national curriculum for Key Stage 3 is designed to help children progress beyond the knowledge they acquired in primary school and build foundations ready for GCSE.
All of our classes are national curriculum based so we can provide as much support as we can with your child’s schoolwork.
